Tracy uses a client-centered approach in her work, firmly believing that all people with whom she has the privilege to collaborate have skills and strengths for survival, growth and change. She meets each person in the unique place they are at, recognizing and responding to their needs from a holistic framework.
If you choose to do counselling with Tracy, she can explore with you the messages you are holding that may be causing difficulties for you. Together, you can look at the different ways that painful experiences may be impacting your emotions, your thoughts, your body, your spirit, and/or your relationships, depending on your specific situation. Exploring the ways that you are already coping will also be an important piece of your work together, as well as talking about how you can do more of those things that are already working in your life.
The counselling services that Tracy provides include individual counselling to adults and adolescents. The kinds of modalities she uses in her work include EMDR therapy, Ego State Therapy, Narrative Therapy, creative approaches, DBT, CBT, Energy Psychology, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Tracy is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master's of Social Work (MSW) degree. She is a Certified EMDR therapist, with advanced training in numerous other modalities, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. In addition to providing counselling, Tracy also engages in research, offers workshops and training around a variety of issues, case consultation, and social work supervision. She has co-authored articles for various publications, including the Canadian Social Work journal, and The International Journal of Narrative Therapy and Community Work. She has been the recipient of a Women's College Hospital Teacher/Educator Award, and has held a status appointment as an Adjunct Lecturer with the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, as well. Tracy is committed to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
